Fire Tracker

How to Use Fire Tracker

Everything you need to run your first training session.

1. Set up your department

Add your department name the first time you save a scenario. It is stored on your profile and keeps training content grouped by crew.

2. Pick or build a drill

Browse the Scenario Library for a ready-made branching drill, or build your own with decision points and scoring.

3. Run it live

Open the Fire & Smoke Simulator to place fire and smoke on a real building photograph and run the drill for your crew.

4. Record the outcome

Save the session as a Training Record — scores, timeline and your observations all end up in one place.

Branching scenarios

Decision-based drills with automatic scoring

Scenario Library
  1. 1Open the Scenario Library and run a ready-made drill, or create a new one.
  2. 2In the builder, add steps — each step is a situation your crew reads, plus the role they are playing.
  3. 3Add choices to each step, give them points and feedback, and link each choice to the step it leads to.
  4. 4Mark one step as the start, mark endings as terminal, and set a passing score.
  5. 5Press Run to work the drill. Every decision is scored as it is made.
  6. 6Results land in Run History with the final score and every answer given.

Building a fire & smoke scenario

Put fire and smoke on a real building photograph

Simulator
  1. 1Create a simulator scenario and upload the photograph of the building your crew will size up.
  2. 2Add a stage for each phase of the incident — arrival, working fire, exposure, overhaul.
  3. 3Pick a fire or smoke effect, then click the photograph to place it. It stays armed so you can drop several in a row.
  4. 4Select a placed effect to tune its size, intensity, opacity, animation speed and direction.
  5. 5Add the emergency events you want ready to fire, then press Start Training to go live.
  6. 6Press the 360° button on a stage to make it a panorama — upload a full surround photo and your crew can look around the room instead of staring at one wall.

Running the drill from the instructor console

Every control you have while the session is live

  1. 1Scenario Control — start, pause, resume, step forward or back through stages, or end the session.
  2. 2Intensity — raise or lower fire and smoke for the whole room.
  3. 3Add Fire & Smoke Anywhere — place new flames or smoke columns mid-call without rebuilding the scenario.
  4. 4Challenges — tap one to push it to every student's screen, with an optional multiple-choice question.
  5. 5Decision Prompt — ask the crew a question with up to six answers and mark the correct one to grade it.
  6. 6Student Scores — watch answers and scores arrive live as your crew responds.
  7. 7Emergency Events — fire a preset or custom event at the crew at any moment.
  8. 8Stage Progression — run stages by hand or on an automatic timer, jump straight to any stage, and flip a stage between a flat photo and a 360° panorama.
  9. 9Scene Audio — turn sound on, set the room volume, and fire cues like an alarm, a siren or radio traffic. Fire rumble follows your intensity on its own.

Ready-made drills and AI drafting

Start from a proven drill, or let a building photo write the first draft

Templates
  1. 1Open Templates to browse ready-made scenarios — structure fires, wildland, hazmat, extrication and more.
  2. 2Install one with a click. It is copied into your department as a draft you can edit, rename and run.
  3. 3Or open Build from Photo, upload a photograph of the building, and the AI drafts the incident, its stages and the fire and smoke placement for you.
  4. 4Check the draft against your own tactics, adjust anything you like, then save it to your library.

Replaying a session

Walk the crew back through the call afterwards

Training Records
  1. 1Open a saved Training Record and choose Replay.
  2. 2The drill plays back on its own timeline — the building view, the stage the crew was on, and every event as it was called.
  3. 3Scrub to any moment, pause, or run it at 2x or 4x to get through a long session quickly.

Training hours reporting

Hours per firefighter, ready for your records

Training Hours
  1. 1Training Hours adds up every recorded session into hours per firefighter and per department.
  2. 2Filter by department and by date range to match the period you are reporting on.
  3. 3Export the report as CSV when your state, ISO or accreditation paperwork is due.

Competency analytics

See where the crew is strong and where it is not

Analytics
  1. 1Analytics looks across completed runs and breaks performance down by incident type.
  2. 2The gap list shows the incident types and the decision points your crew keeps missing.
  3. 3The member table shows who needs what, so you can pick the next drill with a reason behind it.

Training records and run history

Keep the paperwork automatic

Training Records
  1. 1The moment a live session ends, its training record is filed for you — duration, crew list, stage timeline, event timeline and every student score.
  2. 2Open it from the console's RECORD button, or from Training Records, to add your objectives, actions taken, performance observations and areas needing improvement.
  3. 3Export the record as JSON or CSV, or send it straight to your Training Log.
  4. 4Send it to your learning management system instead — export an xAPI statement file or a SCORM 1.2 package from the records page.
  5. 5Run History keeps a scored log of every completed run, filterable by scenario and crew member.

Your crew only needs the link

Students open the student link or session code on any device. They see the building photograph, the live fire and smoke, and any question you push to them — never your instructor notes or the upcoming stages.
